Over the years, Nate has been involved with many film and video productions, starting at age 12 producing homemade vignettes that spanned from comedic satyr to dramatic action.

Throughout high school and college, Nate and a small troupe of classmates, worked on a number of short films. Joining forces with close friend Brent Feeman, they formed a short-lived production company Vitascope Pictures.

It was years later that Nate and Brent, armed with more knowledge and experience, decided to trek into the world of independent film and started Makeshift Pictures. Their first project involved a stock pile of uncompleted footage used as a basis for a documentary: "Hollywoodn't" - A fictionalize story of the pitfalls of the independent film
