Introduced to guitar and rock music by his father (Gregg) at a very young age, Schuiling soon showed a natural affinity and ability for the instrument that would become both his driving passion and the manifestation of his artistic expression.

At the age of 12, Schuiling began the study of guitar in earnest under the tutelage of the late Jerry Glassel, legendary Jackson-area guitarist and instructor. These lessons helped shape Schuiling as a craftsman and an artist. Schuiling also focused on the science of music, studying musical theory and history while enrolled at Jackson Community College and Central Michigan University - where he earned his associate's and bachelor's degrees, respectively.

During that time, in the mid-90s, Schuiling joined forces with lifelong friend Derek Smith to help form the rock band Algorhythm. The group disbanded in early 1998, with Smith becoming the front man for Honest D & The Steel Reserve. Schuiling meanwhile continued writing songs and focusing on developing his vocal range.

In 2006, the much-anticipated musical reunion of Schuiling and Smith resulted in the creation of Nespin Manix. The rock duo most recently composed and produced the original score and soundtrack for "Hollywoodn't", with both film and music release scheduled for 2009. Nespin Manix features Schuiling on lead vocals and guitar, with Smith providing additional vocals as well as playing bass and an array of other instruments - such as banjo, mandolin and percussion. They're currently at work on their first studio album.

On occasion, you can also find Schuiling playing lead guitar for Jackson-area blues band Mojo Phoenix - a group he began performing with in January 2009.
